    Primitive Quilt Kits

Our newest quilt kit, Heritage, uses a delightful selection of 1860s-style reproduction prints and a modern pattern that honestly looks quite traditional in this fabric!

    The Fabrics

The fabrics in this quilt kit are from the Paula's Companions line by Paula Barnes for Marcus Fabrics. We've used a blue herringbone from the Woolies Flannel collection for the backing of our sample quilt.

    The Pattern

If you have had the pleasure of working with a pattern by Kitchen Table Quilts, you'll know that her patterns are well-written and easy to follow. The Erica quilt is no exception. This pattern has a complex look with a simple, straightforward piecing method. There are two methods included in the pattern, one for strip piecing, and one for piecing the squares individually. The strip piecing (which is what we used in our sample) makes the quilt go together quickly while piecing the squares individually gives you greater control over fabric placement. The fabric requirements for both methods are the same so you can do either with this quilt kit.

    Fabric Bundles and Precuts

We also have bundles with the same selection of prints as the quilt kit. So if you like the prints but want a different pattern (or have a copy of the pattern already), this is a good option for you. We have a half yard bundle, and a fat quarter bundle. Both include 23 prints from the Paula's Companions collection.

We've also got some 2½ inch strips (jelly rolls. These precut strip rolls are 40 pieces each. The 10 inch squares (layer cake) are 42 pieces each.

I prefer strip piecing! I do a lot of other types of handwork so want my piecing to go faster😜.
I purchased a fat quarter bundle at the Simcoe County Museum and the ladies were so helpful and nice!
